Get Matched with Lenders in Three Easy Steps
The GetSmart® form is three steps and two minutes. Here’s what to expect.
1. The first step is to tell us about your needs.
You’ll answer questions about the property, your timing and your finances. The questions are straight forward – no industry jargon here – and there is help text available. And because this is a form to match you with lenders – not an application - approximations for questions like purchase price, down payment and income (if you are buying a home), and property value and mortgage balance (if you are refinancing) are fine. (Although we do recommend that you be as accurate as possible.)
2. The next step is telling us how to contact you. Your name, address and a phone number is all we need to match you with up to five lenders.
3. Finally, three optional questions allow us to better match you with lenders. Again, these questions are not required, but as a thank you for helping us provide you a better match, we’ll send you a free GetSmart Guide. The guide includes information on different mortgage products, down payment options and tips on how to choose the best solution for your needs.
Your lender matches.
We’ll display up to five lenders who are eager to win your business. They should contact you within 24 hours, or the next business day. Your matched lenders will explain their loan programs and rate offerings, and you choose the one that best fits your needs.
What if I don’t get a match?
We will continue to try to match your information with a lender for 72 hours. The number one reason for failure to be matched with lenders is credit history. If you selected that you have a “Poor” credit history, check out some of our articles on improving your credit rating. Did you know you can get a free credit report once a year? It’s smart to know for sure what’s on your credit report – and to take steps to improve it.
